...license in the state of WV? I have checked the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources web page, but I still can't find the answer.

I'm confused, how is Annie wrong?

The above person called Annie wrong saying they don't need anything to hunt in Kansas on their land. But then the same person turns around and stated they must have a Hunter's ed card and tags which comes from a license? I'm not trying to argue, just trying to understand.

That is totally not true. She needs to check regulations in other states before she makes a blanket statement like that. In Kansas, where I live, we hunt our own land and are not required to have a hunting license. However, we do still have to buy a deer carcass tag and are still reuired to have a hunter safety certificate. Check your local regulations. It will clearly tell you whether you have to have a license or not. It will be in the dept of wildlife and parks webpage not dept of natural recources. A hunting license is not the same as a carcass tag or hunter safety card.
Edit for hangfire. A hunting license allows you to hunt anything, you still have to buy permits like the deer carcass tag or a turkey carcass tag or an elk tag, and so on. They are not the same thing. You are required to have a license in Kansas if you are hunting on publi property or hunting on private property that is not owned by you or a relative.
Annie Oakleaf, would have provided a link to dept of wildlife and parks if I knew how. Sorry not that advanced yet. What are you talking about not owning the animals, when they step onto your property and you have a carcass tag, and they're in season, you are allowed to shoot them. No ifs, ands, or buts. No hunting license required. And yes I am talking about Ks. Thats why I told him to check his local regulastions.
