K kelly_f_1999 Guest Dec 28, 2008 #2 when i remove my tank i use shut off valve on tank remove fuel line and lift see no reason to drain unless you dont have a fuel shut off then just pull fuel line and let it drain i think you might have bigger problems a head

H hellrazor Guest Dec 28, 2008 #4 All you have to do is turn the valve on the petcock to off and take the tank off it will leak a little bit from the line and carb but it will stop
