Over the course of my life, it seems as it most of my good friendships have ended due to passive aggression. My friend would be annoyed with a certain aspect of my personality or actions, and would distance themself from me, instead of addressing the issue, leaving me to either figure out the reason myself, or ask somebody else. For example, in 8th grade, two of my then best friends would constantly become very angry with me at seemingly arbitrary times, without telling me why. I never found out why until after they made it blatently obvious that they wanted to end the friendship by making constant rude and snooty remarks.
Last year, a significant amount of my friends ditched me after I got drunk and smoked weed for the first time. Instead of coming to me and saying "I would prefer it if you discontinue smoking/drinking/hanging around the "bad" kids", they just distanced themselves from me. I was able to figure out why my old friends ditched me because they all did after I got drunk/high and became friends with "that crowd"
Isn't this all a little ridiculous? Why are people so passive aggressive? If someone have a problem with someone, and you don't directly address it, it's your own fault the problem persists. It's not that hard to politely tell the person that you would prefer it if ___________ and make an aggreement and move on. If they don't know what they are doing wrong, you have no right in hell to be mad at them, only yourself.
Your thoughts?
Darla: They're stupid... they don't address the issue. Instead, they just get mad at the person who is unaware of what they are doing wrong. How is the person supposed to change their actions if they do not know which action to change? As I said, they have NO right to blame the other person if the problem persists, because they did not make the other person aware. That is wrong.
