I loathe them. They make me want to vomit. There was a local PSA thanking "All the Veterans" but only showed US ARMY personnel.
Another was a group of soldiers in their BDUs, black background with a transparent American flag in the foreground while "Proud to be an American"...
Another was for a Bank, showing all Navy personnel, interesting enough, the Guys they were all showing actually looked annoying or angry for whatever reason. A Navy Chief looked like he was giving the Evil Eye (Probably being in their crappy commercial) "To our Veterans... Thank You for your service",
And... yet another one was from a major corporation showing a bunch of haggardly looking veterans from all eras, reading some script. WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War... etc. "For giving us freedom, Thank You"
I was in the US Navy for 20 Years. I hated these tribute ceremonies. I was forced to go to more than one in my dress uniform. I hated it. I was volun-told. I put on a fake smile and acted cheerful. I hated every single second and minute of these ceremonies. After it was over, I just wanted to vomit.
