Do you get to see your GRE test results before deciding to sumbit them to a school?

I have heard conflicting stories...one adviser told me that you have to choose whether you want to submit your scores BEFORE you actually get to see them. Another person said that you get to see your scores (obviously, not the writing portion) and then decide to either submit them or throw them away. Any ideas which is true?
