...educated? I notice that before college, too many people "learn" just for the A's, while not enough actively seek out knowledge just because they want to gain greater awareness.
College was a major shift. With majors being declared and lots of other focuses, I notice quite a lot of fellow students who could energetically talk about what they're studying, how they went ahead and sought out information on their own (without the professor/teacher's instruction), and relate it to life experiences.
What can be done in US education so that there's more of a culture where people actively seek out knowledge and strive to become "bright" rather than just "educated"?
