Do you feel that the anti-obama crowd's rants and efforts will have zero effect on

Obama? I think so. Regardless of how much effort they make to defame him or end his support, they will not be able to produce 1 single dent whatsoever.

In fact the opposite is happening. The more and more Obama bashers say, "he is muslim", "he is black", etc etc etc

the more it works in Obama's favor only because this is 2008 not 1908.

Racial and false religious attacks have no place anywhere in this election. And thats the only thing Obama bashers are counting on.

Quite obviously...

Anything done in this sense on YA, and this goes for smearing of all candidates, is going to have minimal effect on anything. Most people on here are very set on their views as it is, and nothing is going to sway them

Yeah, pretty much. Mainly because they have nothing substantial to use against him it's mainly lies and spin. Pathetic really

There ain't no point in talking when there's nobody listening so we just ran away ....(Rod Stewart, Young Turks), "Obama" talks but will be the "nobody listening"... and there will be nowhere to run!!!

You are right. I am an independent white voter. But when I hear stuff like, "OMG, Obama is mulsim and black" etc etc, i get more and more curiously attracted to Obama and it helps make me his supporter because I see him treated unfairly.

I agree with you 100%. The more a stupid and obviously untrue assertion is made (especially in such a tainted manner), the longer its 'hang time'. The longer stupidity hangs around remaining potent, the more time people have to investigate it, realise it for what it actually is...and the easier it becomes to nullify. I've posted the links (and another) below a few times today to disabuse people of the Obama/Islam connection. The first quote from the first site is Obama's definitive response to the 'issue'...and he won't go too much further with it. Why? Because he doesn't need to.

You're spot on here. If the critics come up with something that can potentially damage Obama, they'll use it. But being black or Muslim? They're going to have to do better than that.

Oh and while I'm on it...a lot of these people are probably the same who crave in-depth policy stances, yet with this behaviour are simply waste time on nothings. If you want to stop him, he DOES have political weaknesses. Go after those.

Meanwhile, though, he's sailing merrily on.

I agree. Obama is too strong to fall for that kind of slander. He knows its not true and thats what matters the most.

Vote Obama

He is above the fray. No one boo's him, they boo Hillary a lot. I find that very interesting. Don't you?

the message of racial and religious attacks is not getting the attention of the mass crowds anymore.america has begun to move on to a better day.

they changed my mind when I found out Obama is a muslim and would swear on the koran if elected to office. I didnt know untill I found out on here

Hi I'm a Hillary supporter and I have never, not once, bashed Obama for being black or being (or not being) a Muslim.

I simply think is his resume is awfully thin for consideration as a U.S. President. That's all. He is unqualified for the job.

Anyway, if people want to talk about "isms," let's talk about the rampant, unchecked sexism levied against Hillary Clinton on a daily basis not only by Obama and his supporters, but by the media too.

After seeing the last 12 contests, I would have to say if anything it is helping him.

Shrill defamations makes her appear petty, weak and desperate. This is basically what happened in South Carolina where it utterly backfired on the Clintons. Her campaign is in its last throes to be sure.

It's not the rants that will get him in trouble.
It's his "back to the future",Jimmy Carter,1970's policy ideas that'll sink his campaign.
High taxation makes stagflation and a naive foriegn policy means an america in retreat.
Independants, centrist democrats and middle america ain't goin' for it.
BTW- Expect some centrist Hillary supporters to cross party lines and vote for McCain.

Apparently not...Obama's about to be named the Democratic nominee. And, McCain is in hot water...again.

Smear, 'swift-boating, damning with faint praise, whispering campaigns, half truths, out of context quotes, disinformation and propaganda over a long period of time can for sure discredit a person...look how long they've been dogging Sen. Clinton! Even people that like her don't like her! With Obama the best they can do is hit on a few phoney charges and hope they stick. Most won't because they're so obvious...like the 'hand over the heart' picture, the 'turban', 'he's a muslim AND he's a 'member of a racist christian church'. Dah! Then his wife said...."...I'm really proud to be an American'.....what's wrong with that? The point here is the hard core reactionaries, the Jesus freaks and the dittoheads will either vote for that nice old man McCain even though he's a 'liberal', or they won't vote. Everyone else will vote for Obama or Clinton no matter what the GOP's Ministry of Propaganda puts out. God help us if I'm wrong!

I hope so. You have to have pretty thick skin to be president of the United States. I just hope that all these supporters don't just vote him President then once he is elected just leave him hanging to all of it by himself. Remember there is a such thing called Congress. No President can do anything if he can't convince them. Everybody talks about how Obama has everyone fooled. Obama has nothing, I mean nothing on George W. Bush. Now there is a guy who used 9/11 to get his agenda done. Pump fear into people you can control them. Just like the old saying, you stick a cattle prod up a horse's a-s-s and you can get it to deal cards. Bush is a genius and his rhetoric was powerful enough for him to get 2 terms.

Obama 08

They are looking like exactly what they are - desperate. They have seen an honest person in politics who people are genuinely excited about in generations, and they don't know how to respond.

The Obama bashers are just showing how racially intolerant they are of the man himself.

Even Hillary's getting in the act--by defaming another country's traditional ways of dress; by insinuating that he's gone all "Muslim" on us.
