do you fall for the brainwashing mass media?

Perhaps once upon a time I did....but not in several years...and certainly not in this last election....The biased liberal media's love affair with the "great and almighty" BO is nauseating....

How could it NOT influence almost all of us?

Who has personally met any of the candidates we vote for? Our only source for information about them is some kind of media.

I think it's better to be honest and admit that the media influence us than to pretend it doesn't.

And to those of you who claim you don't use the mass media: What, exactly, is Yahoo! Answers, anyway?

never whatever they say i do the opposite.same as adverts i make a point of never buying goods advertised on TV. Because a normal 20 second advert costs about £20,000 that means they must be overcharging on their product and getting me to pay for it .

No, but then, I don't operate under the illusion that news companies are there to brainwash anyone. They are there to make money! The stories that get them the highest ratings are the ones that prevail. Which is why sometimes we get subjected to weeks of drama about Jessica Simpson, Lindsey Lohan, etc.

I have seen many insightful investigations on broadcast news and in the newspaper. If you have the money and time to investigate every single story that interests you, then you can do without the media. Until then, you'll just have to check a variety of sources as well as search for non-media sources and make up your mind from the mix.
