Will the western still rule or will it become obsolete as technologies and populations continue to develop?

HELP!! ..
i need everyones opinions!!

IDK.

We are behind in technology.
Our education system sucks and is failing our children.
Our social policies are catastrophic.
Economic policies are terrible.
Immigration policies are terrible.
Environmental policies are worthless

I really am fearful of our future, but optimistic. We will find a way to remain #1.
 
i think in this century,due to the dumbing down of western populations,and the influx of cheap immigrant labour,and manufacturing being switched to cheaper,more compliant overseas countries,which is the real terrible meaning,and therefore cost,behind globalisation.India,and china spring to mind,which are the two rising stars in the east that will dominate the world economic stage.as a result,Europe and America will become forth world economies,which are developed countries ,with third world conditions,you already have it in America and the u.k.,to an extent,but it will get much,much worse
 
No i look at western society especially the US and compare it to Rome...just like the fall of Rome so will the fall of the US occur, because of either envy, jealousy...when you're on top...when you're the top dog...people hate you for some reason and they do the best they can to try to take you down...look at what happens to all the greats...weather in sports, the olympics...or stars...look at beyonce for example...how people hate on her cause everyone knows she's the shit, and they can't take it...So yeah western civilization will continue to be attacked as long as it's still here...So No it will not remain because the only thing western civilization seems to lack is to stand on common principles as a foundation...and when theres no foundation your whole house collapses during a storm.
 
Nope. And I wouldn't mind if we weren't "all powerful" if our government weren't such pushy a holes to other countries, they are going to gang up on us like they did to Germany after World War I.
 
no i dont thinks so...cause two of the most poplulated countries in the world are china and india and .eventualyy itll be like ...every one would be probably some wierd mix od indan or chinese..lolzz.well power wise you never knw
 
i don't want to be racist, but to be factual. one of the main reasons that western society got to where it is now is because we were open to new ideas, even if they came from people we once thought were below us (printing press is an example). being more liberal and thinking outside the box is what we need to do, and continue to do. no amount of strict disclpline in education will do this, but will just hinder this. just look at china. a 2000 plus civilization barely advanced, it closed it self from the rest of the world, while the west remained dynamic (the romans, barbarians, dark ages). a bunch of barbarians saw the compass (used in china as a magnet for political predictions) and explored the world. the technology will always be there, but it is the unique society that recognizes their potential and uses it. to think outside the box is to make a society great, and any society can be great, they just have ton be open about people and their difference and perspectives. multiculturalism and pluralism in the western world (exploring new lamds to having international immigrants). this is a formula that can be applied by any nation or society, but is so dominated by western nations.
 
will i kinda hope it does coz at least we have domocries in the western world. in Asia theres way 2 many counties which rule by whats call Shiera law, which is ''the Muslim way''. basically, people have to obey the Koran and if u dnt, serious things can happen to you. for example, in 5 Islamic countries, if ur openly gay, u can be stoned to death.

also, China is communist and i wouldnt want to see the western world like that- i mean, think of the cold war. it was america (the west) against russia and china (the east). America has fought for domocracy since the early 20th century..............................

The "western" culture (reason overwhelming emotion) is dying even in the West. The world is moving back to using reason only to rationalize emotional reactions.

Have you seen the east?

Wars breaking out everywhere, religion taking a tole on countries.

If the East started to get more powerful, we'd all be dead, or close to it with all the wars.

So I think we'll find a way, even if we fail in every other part of life. :P
