Do you think the two terms are interchangeable or do you think of writers differently than authors? Do you consider a journalist a writer or author? What about someone who writes a movie script? Do you think someone who writes a scholarly essay or research paper is an author? If someone writes a comic book is he considered an author?
If you are writing a manuscript what do you tell others you are? How do you define each term?
I once met a 'writer' of comics who pens the words, someone else illustrates for him.
I love the answers I've gotten so far. Wow I didn't think of the 'authoring' a plan. That's a fact to be tucked away for use later.
