Do you contact your elected representatives?

That would be seldom, 'on occasion'.

I did not include mail contacts as my representatives long ago informed me by newsletter anything sent to Washington DC via US Mail is held up by explosive, anthrax, etc. checking for so long that any issue is long past by the time they receive it.
 
I do but I always get the same response " thank you for taking the time to contact me. It is citizen involvement like yours that makes this country great". Can you say form letter puke :xbanghead :rolleyes:
 
Hell, I've been down to westminster to argue with my MP in person, not a lot of point in talking to the new one though, he's a tory arms dealer :xcensored
 
Believe it or not, most political offices track constituent contacts by issue. The higher you go, national for example, the great the volume and less time available for a personal response, poor time management when making big deals is your job. Real small and you can get them on the telephone because they know its a voter and word will get around if they try and ignore you. But they do track contact to keep a hand on the pulse. Other than going against party line, angry voters in a majority are an elected official's only fear.
 
When the issue is important, I contact them. None ever reply - most don't even have the automated 'your rant is important to us...'. :mad: :)
