A) i agree, i think there are.

B) however, i think we'll never find them.

i think they are rare.
consider, we've only been transmitting radio signals for our own use for 150 years.
the earth is 4 billion years old.
it's 100,000 light/radio years across the galaxy.
it's 2m light/radio years to the closest galaxy.

that's probably a very good thing.
keep in mind, we got where we are by killing off our competition.
every other technological species did the same thing.
that doesn't make for benign beings.
we're really lucky that we're in such a remote part of the galaxy.
if we continue to be not found, that will be most helpful for us.

It's simply unacceptable to say that we are along in the universe, it's like saying that there is only one type of fish in the ocean.
Perhaps,
there are billions of habitable planets in our universe.
Many of the extraterrestrials are probably wondering if there are other life forms in the universe just like us, and many don't.

Take 10,000 civilizations and divide them up into say an 8 billion year period and you have intelligent species emerging every 800,000 years in this galaxy. Now divide 800,000 by 1 trillion galaxies and you have an intelligent species emerging every 25.2455403 seconds in the Universe. This would also mean there are 10 quadrillion intelligent species in the Universe today.
 
reach out to other civilizations? Call me crazy, but I do believe there is some form of life out there in the universe somewhere like us that has their own system of science and technology. I truly believe theyr'e trying to reach out to us too. Do you agree or do you think there could only be microbial life out there?
