1Cor.14:34-35

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
 
Paul taught that b/c at that time in corinth, there was a fad. People were worshipping a goddess, diana. Even christians followed her ignorantly. Since most women in those days were illiterate, they followed the worship of diana and paul taught that THEY should listen to their educated christian husbands instead of trying to bring in such beliefs into their families.

However, some churches today quote this in a display of ignorance replacing those illiterate women. God says your sons and daughters will prophecy ... evidently, women will not keep silent in churches ... so there is your answer.
 
It's going to be interesting to see how many variations of this question you will come up with.
