Do you believe that it is possible to subdue your natural sexuality...?

It's dangerous to try to suppress your feelings. The truth will eventually bubble up to the surface and sometimes in unpleasant ways.

Case in point: 45 years ago when I was a student in a Catholic high school the priest teaching us religion (all the boys knew not to get caught in a room alone with him) actually said to us that if a young man did not find himself attracted to girls like his peers were it might mean that he had "a calling to the priesthood". In other words the Catholic church was actively recruiting repressed, self-loathing latent homosexuals to join the priesthood. For the young gay men who could not face up to their identity because of Catholic guilt it was a free ticket to not having to explain why they had no girlfriend.

45 years later we see all these horrible stories of awful men who are twisted up inside over their own sexuality using their power over children to commit horrific crimes.

Almost every day we hear of people whose religion taught them to deny their true nature being involved in a public scandal or a crime.

It is not good to deny your true nature. The route to mental health is to embrace yourself exactly as you are.

Remember that if somebody has a problem with you being gay, then THEY have a problem.
