I don't think there would be a general rule one way or the other. A loner might be more able to handle economic troubles because they would feel free to move to a new location for a job. However, someone with friends and family has a support system to back them up if they have a hard time getting back on their feet. So, loners have a lot of location flexibility, but connected people have a support system and possible connections that could help them get out of a bad situation.
