Do you believe in UFOs?

and I voted no because:

1. they probably won't be the flying saucer type UFO's we think of
2. if we saw them we would identify them and they wouldn't be unidentified

why not a saucer?

If they don't have artificial gravity, spinning sections could provide it.
Also, if they were built planetside, the streamline shape of a saucer would cut down on drag.

Absolutely. There is simply too much space out there (infinity) for there not to be anyone or anything else.

Plus I saw a UFO when I was a little kid. My sister and I still talk about it sometimes.

Or people eating tasty animals. :xgood:

I'm usually for that but not a fan of lamb. Exotic animals are worth a try. Kangroo tastes pretty good as jerky.

I don't think they'll provide anything until we get ourselves straightened out.

Kind of like "Star Trek", the Federation wouldn't make contact with a culture until they discovered faster than light travel.

I would keep that sort of knowlege to myself if I were you for the sake of personal credibility. But for the record, I believe you. Don't ask me why. I'd prefer to keep that to myself.

Or maybe they didn't invent the really fast space travel (possibly faster than the speed of light). Maybe space ships grow on trees on their planet. You never know when you're dealing with aliens :)

But they've not been able to prove it wasn't something else, and the sheer unlikelyness of it requires a bit more than them being fairly trustworthy. I'm a fairly honest guy and not prone to superstition, but if I said Jesus had just got a job at the local Tescos I doubt people would beleive me.

It would be nice, but surely if they were here and going to contact us then they would have. But then there is the problem that if its that advanced we wouldn't probably be able to reverse engineer it (seeing as its breaking the laws of physics, and you can't reverse engineer something without having some kind of framework to operate in it, and if you can't make assumptions like it uses the same physics as you then its impossible), not to mention the language barrier.

Not to mention accepting technology from an advanced species is a bad plan, especially if you start adopting it a lot. Suddenly become reliant on something you can't produce yourself and that comes from one source. Before you know it you've joined the Tau'va.

Knowledge is fine, but technology is not the thing you really want if you don't have anything equal to trade. Thats not assuming that the aliens haven't just come in a generation ship and are actually a few decades behind us anyway...

MM I am usually with you on every issue but we part company on this one......There have just been to many credible people who have had sightings.......Maybe they are light years ahead of us in the technology of space travel...............Can you imagine what they could teach us if they made contact?

Some people are concerned that they could harm or destroy us..........Like I said before if they wanted to do that they could have already done it............

:xgood:

Also, WE are here. Space is infinite. It's quite unlikely that there is NOT any other life out there; nigh impossible.

However, I hope it is also impossible for another being like Michael Jackson to exist ANYWHERE)

You have no Idea how glad I was that I was sitting down when I read this!!
First it shocks me that you haven't labeled all those who claim to see UFO's liberals.

Then I have to wonder didn't at one time the RCC say we were the center of the universe,... The sun went around the earth,... the earth was flat ?? Theres no one but us .. It was all created for us??

Ok I'm goning to go take a little breath of fresh air and rest for a moment as this is very disturbing to me! .... V.O.R. and I agree on something. I think I'm going to be sick!! Back in a few.
