Do Toyota Camrys really get 31 mpg?

I was just reading an article stating the new 09 Camrys with the 4 cylinder automatic transmission get 31+ mpg highway. Is this true? I once owned a cheap 2002 Chevy Cavalier that was also a 4 cyl/automatic and my average was about 26-27 mpg highway and that was driving with an egg shell under my foot so to speak.

I'm just curious is all. 31 or more mpg just seems crazy for a car the size of a Camry whether it's a 4 banger or not. I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me.
