i certianly dont think so..... the book makes vampires look like pushovers who drink animal blood, and fall in love with highschoolers. The vampires in Van Helsing or dracula portrait a perfect image of their true history...even though myth....since the beginning of time i have not seen one civilization paint vampires "good" and every civilization has a occurance of vampires, isnt that scary? what do you guys think?

I mean vampires don't exist so, their is no history. But I think the author of twilight went against some of the common perceptions of what vampires are ( such as them evil) but stuck with some of the modern theories such as vampires like blood and have super strength.

Stephanie Meyer was not going for a scary book, she was going for a romance. That is why the vampires don't rip people to pieces and burn in the sunlight in Twilight. Vampires are not a myth. A vampire is someone who drinks human blood and there is people out there that do so, but they don't have sharp teeth and burn in the sunlight that is just a character that people created.

thass the entire pint of twilight
stephanie meyer made up her own vamps for the story. its all fictitious so it doesnt matr. all imagination. and creativity.
