Do the chargers have the same hookup for the Droid HTC Eris and the Motorola Droid X?

I just ordered a Droid X and currently (unfortunately) have a HTC Eris. I have a car charger from Verizon for my Eris. I am just wondering if I should order a new car charger. Also, does anyone have the Droid X and can comment on it's battery life?
