Nope. It's called a Thesis.
I had to write a thesis on the impending changes that the computing industry would bring to the business world, economic impact, financial impact, costs vs. benefits and the struggles that new technology would bring to the global market place.
Of course when I was a senior in highschool I wrote a 58 page term paper on Anti-Semitism in the United States in the early 1990's.
Maybe school is just getting easier with their little 3 page papers.
