yes absolutely, as a military wife i have heard and witnessed the things that go on between the military guys at my husbands work and it amazes me. Peer pressure is a terrible thing in the military, and guys can get away with murder in a sense because no one wants to snitch or call out a guy for doing something morally wrong, Like cheating, drugs, abuse ect... It seems to even be worse than in the civilian world.
Here are some prime examples, one of my husbands co-workers was huffing spray paint and electronic duster because they don't show up in a drug test and he could get high. At one point it go so bad that the guy was calling coworkers to sneak him cans of stuff when his wife was out grocery shopping so he could huff and get high before she came home. Nobody in his shop said anything til finally one day my husband went over to check on him and found him blacked out in the backyard while his wife and kids were out running errands. Needless to say my husband got a lot of flack for telling his superior officer but what if we hadn't and he had died? In the military this type of stuff is commonplace. As far as the cheating its unbelievable, my husbands co-workers tell him stories of crazy affairs and the things they do with women who aren't their wives. And nobody ever tells anyone else. It's almost creepy how the military brotherhood is untouchable and no one ever tells on anyone else even when its blatantly morally wrong. One of my husbands co-workers has told my husband how he has stole panties from his female friends and masturbated to them and given his female friends topless massages and such while his wife was in the next room at parties and military get togethers. So i don't think its so much influence as men know they can talk to their coworkers and get stuff off their chests when they feel guilty and no one will tattle on them so they feel better and the indiscretions go unnoticed.
