do servers have the right to disrespect customers in their respective restaurants?

I was having breakfast at this restaurant, I was having pancakes and coffee...

I politely asked the server if she could please get me some brown sugar for my coffee, since I liked brown sugar, and I know the restaurant had brown sugar...

The server looked at me weirdly for at least a minute, so I asked again politely for her to please bring me some brown sugar, and she looked at me in a "are you sure sir" look, so I asked a third time, finally getting annoyed, but still politely and still saying please, until she finally got my brown sugar...

The thing is, the server made me feel bad about ordering brown sugar, why, is ordering brown sugar a bad thing? I wanted to call the manager and complain, because that's not how a server is suppose to act, if that's what the customer wants, just do it, don't make the customer feel bad about ordering what he or she wanted, but I didn't complain to the manager, I just let it be...

are you kidding? she probably just had not ever been asked that before. she wasnt being rude, she was just confused if thats what you actually wanted. that something rediculous to be offended over, and i definately would not have complained.

The manager is in charge of making things run smoothly. If something goes wrong, it goes on him, and the owner will be VERY upset. The owners goal is to provide great customer satisfaction so the customers feel good and come back to enjoy the services. If something happens as that, they need to know so they can take care of the problem (maybe disicpline her or fire her) so that you remain satisfied and they continue having your service. Send a report on her and contact the owner or manager. They will do something about it, you're more important than that stupid person they are paying to give good services when she obviously isnt.
