Do school age children have to them available monitored chat and blog forums?

I am looking for my daughter a place to interact with children her age. She is 12 years old and goes to a catholic school where other kids share chats and blogs. We want to help her find a blog site so that she can create it to her liking; one that is safe to moniter.
