Do right wing Christian Theocrats ever read what the Founding Fathers ACTUALLY said?

Fixed, and yes. But some of the biggest purges had no religious connection.


So neither 'side' is blameless at all.
 
the size and scope of modern purges was helped more by technology than atheist motivation, though. so i suppose my "count deaths" was a bit misleading.

Yes, many of the Founders were Deists or held Freemason beliefs about the "Grand Architect." Very different than fundamentalist Christian beliefs about "God", and more to the point, their vision of a Theocracy for America.

The early Deists were down with Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness -- they were not a bunch of Bible thumpers, or representing a religious sect, who wanted to be up in everyone's business. They saw what that shit had done to Europe. They would be disgusted by the religious right of today, who have the nerve to act like they represent their vision for America.
