Do probation officers give drug tests for alcohol probation?

Someone I know is on probation for an MIP, and is going to get breathalyzed obviously. Can the probation officer also give a drug test for other drugs? or are they not allowed to. Just curious.

and don't tell me that if he got caught he shouldn't do anything to make him worry about it, etc.
 
yes they can
an MIP is probable cause for the court to decide on other types of drug tests
it is not definite, although your friend is subject to a random drug test at any time
 
Yes they do, in fact they can require you to report in within as little as forty minutes from their call. Crime doesn't pay, If you don't want to be locked up then fly straight or expect to get caught and when you do don't cry about it.
 
Yes, I do it all the time. Most terms and conditions of probation state you are subject to random UA and BAs at the discretion of the probation officer or if ordered by the court.
