Okay Im a great poet and i love to write but Im not really sure if me pursuing my poetry career will get me a lot of money???? will it or no? Please help

from what ive heard most poets do not make enough money to live off of it, if being a poet is what you want then a second job will most likely be necessary

Bahaha no.

It doesn't matter how fantastic your poetry is, the only way for poets to make a living is in communist Russia (joke people).

This doesn't mean you should give up though, but you will have to find another way to finacially support yourself. Poetry, writing or any kind of art form should never be about money or praise and recognition though.

Honestly no. There are many things you can do with creative writing though that aren't JUST poetry. Memoirs, fiction, children's books, journalism, song writing, etc. Don't limit yourself because that's the way you're going to get stuck not making a lucrative career.

Bob Dylan

Dr. Seuss

Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine)

Most all poetry books are anthologies, lots of poems from lots of authors. The above named poets all added a little something, music or drawings, to their poetry.

Poetry.com allows submissions by any poet, I believe the poems can get voted on and they (used to at least) give away $10k to best poems.
