Do photographers have patents on their props they use in photo shoots?

My sister in law is a semi pro photographer.She took some pictures of my new grandson the other day and we came up with a simple safe way to pose him.She wants to make the particular items we used her own personal style and design.We were wondering if anyone knows if a photographer has to patent his/her unique styles,props or designs? Also where would you go to find out if anyone has dibs on any of the things they use in Photo sessions?
