And something else, would the people on here who expressed disgust at the president's off air howler complain about Kanye West's arrogance at the MTV Video Music Awards if Obama had said nothing? Perhaps - for once, most may argue - the president touched the hearts of many Americans but he now must realize whatever he says, there will be many waiting for him to utter what they see is 'disrespect' so they can write their disgust in the form of a question, here on Y!A.

Read a few questions and answers from America, and it looks to me they were waiting for something like this. I remember Reagan's 'joke' years ago, and everybody seemed to love it, which makes me wonder about human beings as a whole! You're right, if Obama had kept quiet, the people who has given him hell over it already would have been equally contemptuous about Kanye.
