do people usually have 2 baby showers for opposite sex babies?

I'm not pregnant but I always wondered about the opinions.... If u have a baby shower for ur first born, and it's a boy, then later on u get pregnant again and it's a girl, do u get to have another baby shower since u have absolutely no girl things?? I have a son and he has TONS of stuff! If I was to have a girl I would have to buy new everything for her. Totally would love to hear what u guys think...
 
I think it's a good thing. But remember it's not all about the gifts it's about getting together and celebrating the baby. My sister had 2 girls and had baby showers for both. So having one for each gender would be okay in my opinion.
 
A baby shower for each pregnancy.

If I had a daughter, and was having a 2nd daughter... therefore had a lot of items I could re-use... I would ask my guests to bring diapers, wipes, gift cards or any specific items I needed.
