Do people understand that even if we had Solar and Wind power, we would need...

...a CONSTANT backup supply? ... for when the sun isn't out and the wind isn't bowing.

So, coal would be burned 24/7 anyway and Nuclear plants would operate 24/7 anyway...

What if we strategically place solar panels and wind turbines allover the Earth? What, are the winds going to stop and the sun not shine all over the EARTH? Besides, when it is shining or breezing, they will collect way more than what is needed and store it up for later. argument FAIL.

Also, there is a third type of green energy. It's called geothermal. It uses the Earth's natural heat to turn water into steam. The Earth will be hot 24/7, so that can fill in the cracks.

Thumbs down? Why? Can't stand the truth?

just like all those signs the government puts up with little solar panels that are hard wired to power so they can work when its cloudy and dark. yeah good government spending there. wind turbines can't even pay for themselves and you need about 800 acres of wind mills on a very windy day to make the power from a small nuclear plant. no way there going to build that in my neighborhood who's towns are going to disappear to build wind farms for nyc? i know its not going to be built on parks so who will lose there town for it? then theres solar farms you need a very suny day and about 100x100 of solar panels to power a few light bulbs, how do they think it will handle a persons AC? then again who will lose there land for solar farms to be built and the impact it will have in the environment along with the wind farms.

towns right next to wind farms are already getting sick from the side efforts from the turbines that cause insomnia and headaches.
