Leviticus: History about the animal sacrifices. Written For Jewish Rabbis to only the Jewish People.

Third book of the Pentateuch, called by the early rabbis "the Priests' Manual."

The role of the priest is defined in pedagogic terms:

to teach the distinctions "between the holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean"

Eze 44:23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

This is necessary to prevent Israel's moral sins and physical impurities from polluting the sanctuary and causing its eventual abandonment by God.

The priests are therefore charged with a double task:

to instruct Israel to purify themselves of their pollution, and to purge the sanctuary of its pollution.

However, Leviticus is not just a collection of rituals; one may justifiably seek a moral basis behind every ritual act.

It is hard for us to understand Blood sacrifice for sin in a Stupid Society who bankrupts themselves taking care of Murders,Pedophiles and Rapists. Who will openly dare you to kill them saying I can not be cured.

God requires punishment for sin!

so the sinner goes to the Priest confesses and then The Priest decides what the punishment is.

The animal is killed which makes the man feel pretty lousy and causes him to actually not want to sin anymore. Which is good for all the other citizens and makes a better world for all.

The stupid society we live in thinks that we are animals and makes no extinction between animals and people.

They even call their pets children. God does make a distinction People are worth many sparrows.

When I think that I would have to sacrifice Joe my beloved border collie because of something I did it would make me be very careful not to sin against God.

Since God does not see Hitler anymore sinful than me or you . We are murders in our heart we have just not done it yet or been caught. Does not see murder as any worse than Fornication, Or Fornication any worse than Lying. All have sinned and sin has consequences.

So God gave the sinner many chances !

Then He gave us the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world once and for all!

Foolishness unto those who insist on believing a lie i.e. Bang and Evolution!

Why do people twist Leviticus?

John 3:19

And this is the condemnation,

that light is come into the world,

and men loved darkness rather than light,

because their deeds were evil.

Leviticus was written as instructions from Jehovah for those people who followed Jehovah and believed that he was the one true god.

Nowhere in the NT does Jesus say that the old laws are repealed. In fact he says that they stand for all his followers until the resurrection.

Matthew 5:17-19
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or tittle shall nowise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 16:17
It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

At the time that Leviticus was written only the Hebrews followed Jehovah. Today the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims all follow Jehovah in their own way. Leviticus applies to you.

To answer your question:

Because they do not want to be limited in their diet and actions most Christians pretend that the law of Jehovah does not apply ot them any more.

-sigh-

First of all, the sacrifice tends to be whatever you raise-be it grain or cows. Not dogs.

Second, the cows are going to be eaten anyways.

Third, you get most of the meat back.
