Oh good you're not a scene kid. I hate those. they label themSELVES which i think is stupid You are a lot more than the bands you listen to.
I listen to metal, and a lot of people don't expect it because i'm the least metal person I know, including the people who listen exclusively to country. I think it scares some people. they're like, "eew metal... why can't you listen to nice music, with a catchy beat and a cute singer (or singers)." I'll tell you why: it's because those types of bands don't do anything for me duh is what I tell them.
Whoever is labeling you should be ignored at all costs if they're talking crap about you being "emo". I don't like it when people mix emo and metal up either. somebody called Judas Priest an emo band the other day. I wanted to just dummy-slap him until he was right in the head again. There's a differnce between the two that a lot of people are just too closed-minded to get. Those are probably the same people that are caling you emo.
something i don't get is why emo is a new genre that's already gioing mainstream yet metal is an old at the music game and never reallly made it into mainstream. Thank God for that, because then the record companies would ruin it, too, but why?
