Do my brakes need to be replaced on 2007 Pontiac G5?

My 2007 Pontiac G5 has about 35,000km. and the brakes have started squealing. It used to happen only when braking hard, or if the vehicle was loaded/heavier. The past couple days they are squealing during just regular braking. Is this normal wear, and it is just the wear indicators that I'm hearing? or is it more likely that there is actually something wrong with the brakes? My thoughts are that they shouldn't be that worn after only 35k.

Thanks!

That is normal. They last, depending on driving conditions. If it is squeaking, that is the wear indicator. When it continually squeals with out applying brakes, it may be too late. Usually when squeaking occurs, that's telling you change brakes before having to replace rotors. They need to be turned when you change brakes. I hope this helps.

have your local GM dealer check them when you get your oil changed,
brakes wear is completely determined by your driving style, my mom drives with a foot on the gas and brake, goes through a set a year.

nothings "wrong", just that your brakes are wearing down to the indicators. If you want to keep the same rotors I would recommend taking it to the dealership and having them check it out.
