Do men and women adapt differently to lifestyle changes?

If you had to, in the space of two months, stop smoking (say it was a light habit: a cigar once or twice a week), drinking (a drink or two a day), caffeine (tea, coffee, cola, energy drnks), red meat, fried foods, salty foods, would you expect your mood to improve due to the healthier lifestyle? Or perhaps might your reaction be quite different?
