Hi......I have had a pars defect for 10 years( small fracture at L5 with some minor displacement above it) sorry not very technical. I have managed to get some serablance of fitness on two occasions since then with a lot of effort(read severe distress).

I had an mri and lots of x-rays with dye.

I have started to walk/run again (walking with the occasional short jog).

I'm just wondering if there is a trustworthy source of core rehab exercises on the web?

Or do you think I should seek some advice from my GP or private sports injury clinic?

I want to strengthen my core muscles and my dream is to be able to jog/run again.:p

I would go to a recommended PT to get some good core strengthening done. I know alot fo surgeon nix running with back issues. Have you checked with a back doctor about your back?

hey man im not sure if it will work for you, but im on the process at the moment. i have been doing pilates for a couple f mnths and being doing the core excersise i learned in the classes, i have degeneration in my l4 l5 and s1. it has made a difference but im not running yet, but you never know, maybe you should give it a shot

Thanks for the replies, I don't know are you posting from the USA? I 'm hoping to get some free physio via my doctor (nhs), I see him on the 12th. If not at least some advice.I'll ask him about pilates they do classes at the gym.Even if a physio can show me some exercises that I can do at home would be good.

My significant other has suggested Iyengar Yoga but like I've said before make sure you get a professional diagnosis and make sure its accurate before starting any type of physical therapy. I had physical therapy for an extruded disc and it ended up exacerbating my Myofasicial damage and "set back my treatment by potentially years" according to the doctor who later correctly diagnosed my condition.
