Do I want a N80?

Naddz :)

I passed on the N80 a while back for the write ups in this forum.
I did get the N73, and I liked it, but found I really didn't like the slowness of the S60 UI, although it was very nice. So I sold the N73 and have a SE K790a, which I can't complain to much about, except the N73 took better pic's.
The other day in Vegas, I saw the N80 for the first time, and played with it and was amazed how small and light it was. I thought it was going to be big and bulky. Not bad, and now I kinda want one.
So has newer FW fixed any of the many issues the N80 suffered from, mainly battery life. If there was one thing the N73 did great was battery life. Easy 3-4 days without a change.
Or should I just wait for the N75, I think thats the flip for Cingular to come out.

You'll be so happy when you get your new N80, playing with all it can do. . .for about a few hours. Then your battery will go dead. You'll also be disappointed that the N80's 3mp camera isn't as good as the K790's or the N73's. I certainly wouldn't do it.

You want a fast UI - N93. It has everything the N80 has and more. I was hesitating, and when I saw it at the NYC Nokia store I knew I wanted it. Even though it is bigger on paper than the N90, it actually looks and feels smaller in the flesh.

I did think the N73's pictures were a bit better.
I need to have the stupid 850 band for Cingular, so the N93 wont do.
Thanks

FWIW, I love my N80...

I was worried after reading some peoples' problems but I've had it for about 2 months now and (knock on wood) everything is great with it. I didn't even update the firmware to the most recent one. I had no need to. I don't run into problems with the battery either. I don't use bluetooth but I do use the camera and internet a lot.

I find the camera adequate for situations when I don't want to bring my actual camera... the things I don't like are that the s60 theme generator program is really slow/complicated compared to the s40 one and admittedly the slider is too loose. I also wish some of the freeware apps were up to date with the 3rd ed Symbian OS but eventually they will be. But those are minor things to me.

Forget the N80 - it's bad at too many basic things ... and it's fat.
Feed your piggy-bank for the N95 - which WILL take good pictures and with luck, do what it says on the tin.
I'm selling my N80 and using the venerable 6630 instead.
Sure the D-pad and key's aren't the greatest, but it does everything it's supposed to - and quite delightfully quickly.
An iconic handset.
