I met this guy who i totally fell for. the only problem is a few weeks after i met him i found out he had lied about his job. he told me he was a travelling engineer and went on business trips and made over 100,000 a year. i found out he is on unemployment waiting for a new construction contract. is this someone that was just trying to impress me, or is this a serious red flag of a pathological liar/loser????
i forgot to mention the extent to which he lied. he carried this lie out for 2 weeks, he even "went to ohio on a business trip" for 4 days, and called me late at night, describing a hotel room in which he stayed..describing every detail down to the towels and the wallpaper, naming his various business partners, and their personalities, saying so-and-so "just came in to hand me blue prints, hold on", he went into SOOO much detail,. very believable. when i asked him why he lied he said he was just trying to impress me and got so carried away in his lie that there was no turning back. he has profusely apologized, talked about it openly, and says he wants another chance. is this just a guy doing something really stupid, or is it a true sign of a straight up liar??
