Do I Show Any Promise? (Lots of photos to look at), Please help?

Been doing photography for 8 years, but only on and off really,not constantly. Have an A-level in it, but I lack confidence in my work. The portraits were all done soon after I first used an Slr camera and were done on film and printed myself.
