Do I need upper body strength for sprinting?

When I do off-season training for Track & Field. I only do sprint workouts.

This year I'm planning to do anything that will help me reach my personal goal. Should I workout my upper body more? And what workouts should I do?
 
Yes failure to balance the various muscle strengths will distort your entire skeleton and cause you never ending pain.

A complete body work out what ever it takes to strengthen all your muscles.
