(In CA) I was sued by my creditor for unpaid dept. I have yet to "answer" the court. I called the lawyer for the creditor and worked out a settlement. They are sending me a stipulation agreement which they said I would use as my "answer". So what about proof of service? Is that not something I need to send now since obviously the plaintiff originated it and sent it to me. Am I wrong? I was told just to send to the court the original agreement, one copy of it and the check for the filing fee. Is this correct.
