Do I need to have a hard drive for a Xbox 360 arcade to be able to play 360 games?

I'm planning to get a Xbox 360 Arcade..But one thing I am confused about is the memory device
The Xbox 360 Arcade comes with a 256 MB Memory card..
So is that enough for me to play any of these game titles?

Halo 3
Dead Space
Grand Theft Auto IV
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Or Do I have to get a hard drive (20GB)

WE went and got the Arcade and kind of regret it. Wish we
had just purchased the Elite to begin with. The 256 mb memory
card was not enough to play the games that we wanted, and
looking at your list it wont be enough either (esp. with Elder scrolls).
With the arcade youll end up buying a hard drive and wasting money
when you get a large harddrive with the elite anyways. You also
get a headset, xbox live subscription and hdmi cable which with
the arcade you have to pay separate for! take my advice and dish
out the extra cash for the elite

No, however you will need a memory card which i think is $30-50, and you still wont be able to download demos or arcade games, or DLC.. i recommend just getting a hard drive.

****edit-

Didn't read the part about the fact that it comes with a mem card, so yeah your good to go out of the box, but still no DLC or anything.
