Ok so i have my 4 goldfish on a 10 gallon fish tank (i know its small for them) so i just bought a 55 gallon fish tank for them i so my question is do i need to cycle my 55 gallon fish tank i just bought or can i get some water from my 10 gallon fish tank and mix it with the tap water on my 55 gallon fish tank (after i add the conditioner for the tap water). Ok so if i do that will i still have to cycle my fish tank??
haha no i have a mac i just put that picture because i love penguins haha

If you move the water from the cycled tank to the new tank, you will still need to cycle it because water does not contain enough of the bacteria free floating to colonize with. The seed bacteria that you should try and get comes from the filters, and decorations, gravel or substrate. Gravel substrate are the best seeding materials as you can place them into the filter of the new tank and use it on the floor of the new tank and all of this will decrease your waiting time. You need to make sure that you have testing kits for Ammonia, nitrAte and NitrIte. You want to have as little ammonia as possible, no Nitrites at all and some nitrAtes are ok

MOving them over would be better. However if I were you I would start looking for other places to house your fish. 4 regular goldfish need 150 gallons.

you need to cycle your tank no matter what. unless you have 55 gallons of already cycled water then you need to cycle the tank fully for 4-6 wks
