Do I need to buy a MIDI output plug for my Keystation Keyboard?

I plugged my new keyboard into my mac via USB chord, but I'm not getting any sound. I don't get it. I figured if I needed a MIDI output plug, they would have sent me one with it, but I didn't get anything except a usb chord. It powers on and everything, but no sound. Help please! Thank you!
