...self-adhesive, but weather's bad? I have 3M Outdoor Tread Safety Walk tape.

It is already self-adhesive, BUT it is winter here, and the snow and ice can be extremely harsh. The last thing I want is someone to be walking down the stairs when the ice and snow melts, and go falling bollocks over elbows and kill themselves on my stairs.

If it's not going to be much of a problem, I'll just not worry about it, but the instructions even say to apply contact adhesive which I found to be repetitive as hell, and I would have just bought non-adhesive tread had I known that.

Keep in mind, the stairs I will be applying these two are extremely old, wooden stairs, which have been weathered, and have the cracks and weathering-marks that 20+ year old wooden stairs would have. Should I fill the cracks first? There's a lot! And with what? lol

Either way, if you know of a good contact adhesive, let me know, otherwise, just tell me if between $5.00 and $10.00/ quart is a good deal or not (US Dollars), and how much I should need if I have 16 pieces at 20"x4".

Long question, but I'm going to need someone who knows what they're talking about. Carpenters or noted DIY'ers would be helpful, and if you could give me brand names and specific tips, that'd be great.

Thanks in advance, and happy New Year.
