solenoid clicks - may spin and starts? or may not - battery is okay. Where can I find out the type of starter I need?

test to see if you are getting 12v to the small wire on the solenoid while a friend attemps to start the car...make sure you be safe while doing this. if car is automatic shift , make sure its in P, if Standard shift ..Keep foot firmly pressed on clutch pedal. if ya get your test lite to work every time the key is turned , then 100% sure ya need a new starter, if not ...........uh oh !..you will need a technician to look at it..75$ pr hr.
The solenoid contacts on the starter motor are worn out.
You can replace the entire starter, or merely the contacts. I have welded up many until a I found a replacement source for the contacts. It costs me $5.00 a starter. I charge $100.00 to remove, repair and replace them with a 1 year warranty.

engine id plate located on the firewall. take note of engine type write that down go to wreckers say u need for a starter motor 4 a_____ engine in mean time to get u to wreckers give solinoid a thump somthing solid. and it will start for the time being
