Do I need a smartphone or regular phone

Ok here is my problem. I have a jet ski shop and I carry around a small note pad with odd notes on it. Phone numbers how much labor, when the parts should be in for this ski, need to order parts for this one... bla bla.. Anyhow I would like to be able to keep all of this in a phone or some digital device. Can this be kept on a regular phone??

My old vx8000 is needing replaced. I want to keep all my notes in a digital place and something to play MP3's and a phone with a decent camera. At least 1.3MP and bluetooth maybe when I am driving and 10 to 20 text a month That is all I need.

Everyone post your opinoins. I am clueless on smart phones. Can this info be entered and edited easily on something like the u740 for verizon or should I go with the 6800 at it's release?

I have a touchscreen smartphone and it has this application called notes in which I jot down almost anything that I think of and dont have paper/pencil on me. I consider it to be very handy + I have a today screen showing me my tasks and appointments.

i would recommend a smart phone, not a WM6 PRO phone,

txting on a dash or vox is super easy since you just have a regular qwertyKB, also for anything multimedia related, it can blow even the iphone out of the water thanks to 3rd party apps like TCPMP (you can play any format you want)

You more comfortable "writing" notes with a stylus, or punching them in with a QWERTY keyboard? That's really going to dictate your choice, basically. If the QWERTY works, you could go with a Blackberry or Moto Q. Unfortunately, since you're on Verizon, your choices are a bit limited, but I'd stay away from things like the u740 or enV for this type of thing. You might decide one day to sync up these notes with a PC, and that's going to be harder with one of those devices, but much easier with a true smartphone.
