Do i need a power commander for my 2007 suzuki sv1000s?

I am planning on buying yoshimura dual bolt on exhausts and a k&n air filter, those are all the mods i want for it. A specialist said i would run lean on fuel and cause overheating at the cylinder walls, so that it was mandatory i used a power commander, but i dont want any more mods on my bike, is it really that necesary?
 
No, it is not needed but recommended. If you do get one, you will need a custom tune done on a dyno. I had a slip on exhaust and a k&n air filter on my 2006 zx6r with no PCIII and had 19k miles on her when I sold her without any issues. It will be fine without one but any bike will always run better with a PCIII with custom tune.
