Do I need a new bike tire or just a tube?

I am fairly new to biking. I have changed a couple of tubes, but last night I was out riding and got a flat. I thought I would pump it up with my CO2 pump just enough to get home. As I was filling the tire I could hear it leaking out. I found a tiny stone sticking into my tire and pulled it out and sure enough that was where it was leaking. Do I have to replace the tire along with the tube since it now has a hole in it or is fine just getting a new tube?

For a small hole you can replace the tube - all it means is a small weak spot in the tire. If it's a gaping wound I would most certainly get a new tire.

it depends how the big hole is ive had a nail in my tire and all i needed was a new innertube, if you can see the innertube put a new tire on

It depends on the size of the hole. If you can't see it just replace of repair the tube. If the hole is noticeable replace the tire.

i would buy a new tire and tube just to be on the safe side, and if you don't need the tire at the time, you can save it until you or someone else comes across the time they need it. but you will need to change the tube for sure
