Do I have to pay some one to fix my car?

Ok so I had a car crash. The other driver was at fault and her insurance has already paid me the $ in my name. I was originally going to have the bumper and hood fixed by Company A, and the insurance called him just to see if he could. I Have since decided to have a friend fix it just for the price of parts. Also there is no contract between me and Company A and no paperwork from the insurance has their name or EIN number on it. The insurance company also told me I could do whatever I want with the the check. Now Company A is saying that is insurance fraud and that I have to let them fix it. Also, the insurance paid me for a few more parts, that are not broken, he said I could keep the $ on those parts but that he would keep the $ on the Labor for those parts that he was not going to fix, which is why I decided that something was fishy with this guy and to not let him fix it. Anybody have advice, is this guy harassing me? Do I have to have any body replace the parts, legally? And This guy from Company A says he wants my claim # so he can verify with the Insurance, would that be stupid of me to do, to give him the Claim info?
