do i have to give a landlord notice by law if i am moving when my lease is up?

i live in ohio. the lease says specifically we are suppost to move out when our lease is up. if we didnt give him 30 days notice does he have the right to keep the security deposit?
 
If the lease says that you have to give notice, he may require that you pay through that notice, which could include a month to month lease fee since your lease is up. But it all depends on what the lease states.
